Today my lawyer sent me my receipt numbers for 485, EAD and AP. when I enter my AP receipt number to check online status I see the following...
Application Type: OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 30, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
Anyone know what this means... It doesn't say I-131 in application type..
Second disturbing thing I noticed when I entered my 485 number...

Current Status: Fingerprint fee rejected and notice mailed; case in suspense.
On August 23, 2007, we rejected your fingerprint fee and mailed you instructions for how to submit the necessary payment. This case is now in suspense. Please submit your payment with our notice as soon as possible after you receive our notice so we may resume processing of this case.
My lawyer says the checks have been cashed and we have proof of this.. She says it can be a typo..
Most weird part is for my EAD it says card has been ordered.. but I haven't even done finger prints and my 485 is in suspense..
Anyone any idea whats happening.. should I be worried about OS155A and 485 things..

I don't think there is any grace period. One of my friend did the same way and he went to delhi for stamping every thing was fine for him. Check with your lawer and make sure you have all the documents for stamping.

Last time I have showed one copy. They have asked for the second one which I did not take with me.
The POE officer said that USCIS normally sends two copies one for the applicant and one for POE to retain as a proof of entry.
They also said it is ok if we don't take the second one with us.
They just took a copy of the first one and kept it for their records.

I had a RFE against my I-485 in last week of Nov 07. It was for medical exam, doc forgot to check one box :(
Now the RFE has been replied to and USCIS should hopefully have no further questions on my application. But now the issue is retrogression of EB2 India back to Jan 02 (while I am Jun 03). So does that mean though my application could be cleared by the immigration officer, it will still be put back on shelf because of the retrogression in Dec 07 ?

If the new PWD guidelines were effective 01/01/10, then it shouldn't effect your PWD since it was filed on 12/30/09. You should try and find some document or FAQs to prove the same and send them to your lawyer. My guess is he might have messed up something in your process and is trying to cover it up with this story. Its better to have him re-start the process in that case because if he infact messed up something and he files your PERM, it could be potentially denied which will directly impact you...Try to find out if what he is saying is infact true (which I doubt), or if he is just mistaken..

I don't think it is necessary to renew his passport in India. I heard though they suggest having 6 month of passport validity, POE will let you in even if the passport is going to expire the next day. At the time of entry the passport they are carrying should be valid.
I read this in a blog but use it at your own discretion.
BTW is your son is on H4? How could he be able to come to US on 1st Sep 2009 when the H1B expired on 14th Jan 2009? (or is it a typo and should be read as 14th Jan 2010)
