Hi,
I am in your stage. I am in AOS stage with EAD. I applied for FAFSA and I do qualify under 'Qualified Non-Citizen.' But, the school financial aid office was not aware of my situation and it took more than a month for me to educate and make them aware of this.
The FAO people only know about GC or Citizen. You will have to talk to the
School's International Office to evaluate your situation and ask them to talk to your FAO to explain about your immigration status.

I am planning to be there little after 11 AM with Flowers. hey, how about getting a car full of flowers delivering by our own hands? Now that I am thinking about it, in stead of people sending $32 online we should have bought the flowers locally (using paypal). Is it too late?

The breaking news is the House Democrats have decided not to undertake Tax cut bill in the House, meaning the new tax cut deal announced by the President will not hold good anymore.
Tax cuts will expire automatically end of 2010, meaning everyones bi-weekly paycheck would get cut 50-100 bucks if nothing happens

Yes, you can mail them in one package. But make sure Individual applications are clipped seperately with all supporting docs, photos and cheques and also have a cover letter for each application mentioning I-485 receipt number A# etc

What are chances of Dream Act? --> No one can predict. Depends on how Bush era tax cut bill goes through. Dems has added few provision to please Republicans so they are improving chances.
What are the chances of including our provisions in the bill? --> At this point Republicans want enforcement. They may not bargain for legal immigration in this bill. Rather they may prefer to add some tough rule for dreamers.
What happens if the bill passes without our provisions? ---> We will still have a chance to have our bill as piecemeal or just sit and watch
What happens if the bill fails? --> I hope they get it done, Dreamers are more enthusiastic than us and unless they get it these lawmakers will not think about us. Also they can set example that piecemeal is possible.
WHAT ARE OUR CHANCES IN 2011? --> As I said if dreamer can get their bill done, and CHC doesn't hold any piecemeal in future chances are there. but I doubt CHC will allow any legal immigration bill until Dems are in power of either of house.

By early November, indications were that USCIS demand for India EB-2 visa numbers would place significant pressure on the overall annual limitation, leading to the decision to roll back the priority date for India EB-2 for December 2007 to 01JAN02, and for January 2008 to 01JAN00. Even with those significant retrogressions, USCIS requested almost 300 India EB-2 for December. (As an indication of the rate of demand and how close to the quarterly and annual limits usage is, the USCIS requested three India EB-2 numbers for January, all with dates prior to 01 JAN 00.) There is some possibility that India EB-2 could again become available if it appears that the demand for India EB-1 will not exceed the annual limit, but, that determination will not be able to be made until the second half of the fiscal year.
For China-mainland born EB-2, if demand remains as has been seen over the last couple of months, it is expected that the 01 JAN 03 cut-off date will hold, and it is likely that all numbers will be used within the current cut-off date.
That means they used up 2497 visas in october noveber? The numbers are quite high, so were they only working on EB2 files from india in oct-nov, unlikely. So have they really used up 2800 visas for sure? Can that be found out?

The USCIS website says one need to file 6 months in advance for EAD. It may come out to be true now based on the flood of applications received after July 1st this year. I filed for EAD extentions 3 times in last three years and last 2 times I got in less than a month, this year it took close to 3 months. So always apply 6 months in advance as advised in website

That is just very Basic stuff from my training courses and seminars. I don't have any of my own work I have done recently because most of that was done at my friends house before I got my own place, and I have no way of acquiring that work, but I will make some more stuff tonight.

My wife's EAD expires later this month. She doesn't intend to work; so does she need to renew her EAD? She doesn't have another status like h1 or h4. Will she be out of status when the EAD expires?
The bigger question is that I got my GC a few months ago; but she hasn't got hers. We had an interview at the local office; the officer said he's recommended approval of the 485 and we should get it soon. This happened 2 months ago and still we don't see the 485 approval. The officer also mentioned we could go to the local office any time and get a GC stamp in the passport. Is this true? Can we just take an infopass and get the stamp right away? Do they do that? I called the call center but they just say it's pending and they won't give me any information.
