NSC is processing 140's filed on or before Apr 6,2007 - Once the processing dates shows your filing date, on 31st day, you can ask your employer to open a service request. NSC respond to your SR within 45 days. Hope this helps.
I don't think the dates for NSC is on or before Apr 6, 2007.

Your PD being what it is ..I dont think it really matters in terms of time whether its EB2 or EB3. Honestly I think the best bet is to have an approved 140 ASAP.
Your date becoming current anytime without congressional action is very rare. But Lets assume there is a congressional action and you have a problem with your 140 .. your petition cannot be approved even though your date becomes current. Another important thing to consider is A2P at 140 stage, it depends on your company's size , profitability ...
One can present a contradictory argument much more eloquently too.
You have to keep in my mind that "there is no premium processing available for 140 now".
Convetional wisdom of my attorney is that dont attract unnecessary scrutiny, so far he has been proven right in my case ....

They will reply to all the SRs and Infopass that the applications are not more than a month outside of normal processing times, so they would not reply. The Processing times were moved to that July 2nd date for a specific reason.
I think that if they have some numbers they might start looking at older RD/PD. Believe it or not, they have many pending 485s with RDs even a lot earlier than July 2007.
Lets hope no numbers are lost. If they accomplish this and clear out all the 2004 PDs and earlier than 2007 July 2nd RD, that would be reasonable.
All that said, I have no trust in their communication or their abilities.

if you have your I-140 approved then you should be ok, provided your earned more than the prevailing wage for that year.
Even if you have I-140 approved, if the salary at the time you filed I-485 was less than the prevailing wage, they will examine again the company's ability to pay.
My I-140 was approved in 2006 and back then my salary was enough to prove the company's ability to pay. However, I got a NOID in my I-485 and the officer is asking to prove ability to pay again.

My gc is in process, both I-140 and I-485 is approved over 180 days back. I have a valid EAD. Recently I lost my job (laid off). Can I apply for unemployment benefit?

What is bothering me is that they told us the Wrong Information PLUS lawyer was just asking for filling fees(which is 745) during the time of signature but now Company is charging even for legal fees.
I believe they want to earn extra money from us. What should we do now about this wrong info?

There is a chance that i might get laid off. I have a pending I485 filed on July 2. My I-140 was approved in June 06. Would like to know if i get laid off within how many days do i have to find a job.

This is a very basic question and I need answer on this as early as possible and guidance from you.
I came to this country in Dec 2001 on H1B Visa.
I never applied for green card since then.
Now on Dec1,2007 my H1B expires so I will have to go back to China.
If I file for green card at this point, will I be able to get the yearly extension for next few years till my GC comes?
Am I even eligible to do so?
Can I go to Canada and still work in USA (Since I live close to canadian border)?
If you have gone for out of US vacations etc, you can claim "absence time" to extend H1 beyond Dec 2007. For example, if total time outside US is 3 months then you can extend H1 until Mar 1st 2008.
This gives little more time to get I-140 approved and file for 3 year H1 extension based on approved I-140.

If by stoke of miracle private outsourcing is banned, the price of almost every product and service will increase by many fold. Everyone is scared of inflation because of lenient monetary policy. If outsourcing is banned, it will result in price increases many times more than the price increases caused by inflation.
It will make sense if a candidate running behind in the election polls would adopt the slogan "ban outsourcing". Other than that it is unwise to think that banning outsourcing will have any positive impact on the people in US. Obama ran on the platform of banning or putting restrictions on outsourcing, didn’t he? What happened? Why did he not ban outsourcing? The truth is, even when a few million people are hurting, outsourcing has overall huge positive affect for most Americans. Even when people don’t like outsourcing, they are always looking for latest cheaper goods. Are you not looking for deals on websites hosted in Canada or China or wherever? If it is good for you (buyer) to get access to goods in open competitive market, then why is it not good for companies to buy the things from open competitive market?

When I went recently for my EAD renewal FP (I deliberately e-filed EAD renewal to get this FP notice, and it came fast), I took a copy of my I485 receipt notice, and explained to them that I have been waiting for that other FP for almost a year (never opened SR). They promptly took both FPs (code-1 for I485 and code-2 for EAD), and also told me I should never have waited this long, and instead should have contacted them (I guess they meant by Infopass) after 2-3 months.
I was not aware that you needed an FP for EAD renewal as well. Could you please clarify? I always had thought that FP is related to 485 and not EAD. Am I wrong?
Also, not sure which Infopass center you went to, but my center happens to be San Antonio and I have already been there twice before for expediting EAD/AP for my wife and we also asked them about finger printing then and they said they are not an "authorized" center for that although the USCIS rep I spoke to told me to go there.
I have anyway taken another info pass appointment there again just to try my luck again.

I simply don't get it, first everyone blamed 245i cases and April 2001 deadline, we now passed this stage, I really don't see that many people from India are waiting for GC with PD 2001, so who are consuming these visas, there are only few guys from this year, most of my friends how applied during this year got their greencards

Try complaining to the local Bar association. Thats the advice someone gave me. Also try the Better Business Bureau.
