Is there any webpage that has details on an EAD and what jobs a person can do, cannot do, whether new job it needs to tie in 50% to current job etc ..
I'm looking for the official page that has some detail on this.
Looked online did not find anything. A little surprised.
Let me know if any of you have any relevant links to this info.

Congratulations!! Why didn't you do Concurrent filing in June?
I didn't have my I-485 documents compiled and ready for submission in June, so I just went and filed I-140 since that was ready. I figured I-140 would be approved by the time I had I-485 docs ready, and the July visa bulletin issued June 13th showed my PD current through July, so I wasn't worried.
Boy did I (and quite a few other people) get a nasty surprise on July 2!

But for Filing only Primary and dependent after that all the dependents and primary applicants will have their own Application Numbers and so.
So no wonder Dependent may get approval.....
But lot of questions araises
Just for argument shake please do not expect to happen but for argument
if the Primary applicants is not eligible then what they will do ........ :)

Hi Guys,
My co worker is a sales man who travells to latin america frequently. My company is concerned that once he files I-485 he will not be able to travel out of US. He has a valid H1 stamped on his passport.
His PD is Feb06, EB-3, ROW.
Can he not travel on his H1 once the he files AOS?

Thanks for the quick response gurus. Would like to know if anyone else is in the same boat. Also because of this issue, my spouse is resigning her job and going out of US for a H4 stamp. Is there any way we can avoid it as it is a oversight issue?

If any member has ITIN, economic stimulus package benefit will not be given.
You can definitely give it a try because when we went to apply SSN for my wife, they didn't ask for EAD even though we were carrying it. They might be able to give based on AOS, but I am not sure. You can give it a try since you have nothing to lose.

Hi GC gurus,
I am in dilemma and seek your help desperately.
Currently i work for a consulting company A (around 500 employees). He provided me with a pre-approved labor(EB2 category, pd 02/05) and recently got my 140 approved. The client(say company B) i am working for has offered me a full time position and i am willing to take it up. But according to the company's (B) policy the GC process can be started after one year of joining.
I talked to my company (i.e company A) about my decision to join company B. He provided the following explaination :
1. EB2 to EB2 porting is not possible: According to him EB3 to EB2 porting seems possible but he wasnt sure about EB2 to EB2. He needs to look into the matter. Can you please provide some more information on this...

Thanks for the clarification though. Does Vbulletin have 2 seperate tables one for threads and one for messages. That is the structure that another forums software that we used had. If you have a messages and threads table seperately then maybe you can sort it simply by messageID (the primary key in the messages table). Since that column is a PK, it is already indexed and hence automatically faster

Did you get second finger print notice before approval? When did you go for first fingerprint notice?
I did not get a second finger printing notice (yet?). The 485 approval notice said that a biometric appt may be sent or the card will arrive. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

I presume the above is what you are referring to. My wife (on H4) and I (on H1B) are planning to fly to India later this year on Lufthansa. Hi,
I started working for my employer last year on H1b. I've also singed employee agreement contract which stated to work for my employer for a period of 1 year (2080 hrs). It also states that in case of improper termination of the contract, the employee is reponsible for the damages caused.
My employer is based in Texas and I am working in california.
After working for my employer for a client about 6 months, I've got an offer from the same client for a permanent position and that I need to transfer my h1 inorder to accept the offer.I transfered my H1.
Since then my employer is trying to scare me with notices through mails. My friends has told me not to accept either mail/phone from my employer. My employer tried to reach me several times through mail/email/phone but couldn't.
Recently one of my room mates accepted a letter from an unknown person (through my employer's advocate) without my knowledge. The mail is a NOT legal notice but a printed document stating the breach of employee agreement handed by a person.
The letter stated the same thing which is present in the employee agreement that in case of improper termination, the employee has to pay for the damages. The damages in the letter include the damages over $10,000 incurred by my employer as a result of the termination of contract.
It has also stated in case I do not pay for the damamges, my employer has no choice but to persue with the arbitration method of resolving this issue.
The same thing I shared with few of my friends and I had mixed responses. One was insisting to pay for the damages in order for a smooth transition. The other has told me to post in this forum to get valuable advice from the members.
Another friend has told me not to bother as my employer also breached the general labour acts such as not paying for me while on bench, taking fees for the filing of h1,not paying for the medical insurance (as stated in the employment agreement). I dont know how to proceed in this regard.
I've the following queries it would be great if I could get some answers/discussions/advice on the same.
1. Is my employer really trying to scare me so that I can pay them for the damamges?

Not at all advisable..patience is virtue in this matter..

Need not..call him up or go to his office(i recommend this) because we sound different over the phone..try to talk him/her out on this matter..he violated some labor rules, it doesn't mean he/she cannot come after u on this matter..court and labor department are two separate issues..any evidence against him/her can only be used by the discretion of judge..there are several loop holes in this contract issues..by experience i have only got to know a few of them..don't be scared..coz that doesn't help u..finally sorry to tell that i am not able to help you in giving a straight answer..but please do contact a legal attorney in this matter..just consult him/her and get their first hand opinion..also talk to ur employer face to face(if possible) and tell him/her u made few mistakes and i have done one mistake..tell them to get it over with..if u run away from him, he/she thinks ur scared and will try to scare u more..lastly please do not lose ur control by threating / abusing with emails or voice mails or any of that kind..coz that can be used against u inspite of his/her mistake..

Both Shaktisagar and Greyhair make very valid points. Which side wins the argument well only time will tell. Nothing works the way it ideally should. The world is evolving and this recession and all this policies are all part of the evolution. People have started rethinking the value of having money versus true peace/hapiness slowly. In the US the disparity was partly hidden by the "plastic". Everybody was given a plastic and everybody could buy and live the "dream". Well that has just about ended to some extent. The problem is that, it is just about begining in Indian/china/brazil and russia.
What brings real peace/hapiness? Once 3rd world citizens (like Indians) get over the issue of "am I better than my neighbour?" India will progress towards its real goal very fast. The real goal being true peace and hapiness rather than the pseudo/fancy/fantasy/unreal/materialistic world that is propagated by the media.
If only we all had easy access to our inner ability for tremendous patience to tide over this process of evolution.......But it lies beyond our reach while we lie rolling in the misery created by our thoughts and desires.........

You can go for infopass though I am not sure how helpful it will be. In my case I was able to get the same information by talking to level 2 support at USCIS. My 3 infopass appointments were no good really in terms of getting any update.
